Greeting From Bob Marley 2023

The love for music and marijuana never dies

Greetings, my people. It’s me, Bob Marley, the love for music and marijuana never dies, and being here in the city that never sleeps, New York makes me feel like I’m in the center of the world.

Let’s dive deeper into what brings me here today, talking about the marijuana culture and legalization, a topic dear to my heart. I grew up in Kingston, Jamaica, where weed was illegal, but it was a way of life for many. It was and still is used as a spiritual, medicinal, and recreational herb. Many people from my community would get arrested and incarcerated for using this natural herb.

My vision

I always knew that marijuana would one day be legalized globally. My vision was that there would be a time when you could find marijuana shops, licensed growers and distributors. This vision has come true, and it warms my heart. Although, it does hurt to think of all the young men of color, especially from the indigenous communities, who were incarcerated for years because of a nature-given gift to humanity.

When I was actively preaching and singing about the legalization of marijuana back in the ’60s, ’70s and even the ’80s, people looked at me like I was crazy. I was often portrayed as a wanted man, fighting against the system with just the herb and the rhythm. But I am delighted to see that we, the people, have finally moved past those days.

In the past, people were scared of the herb, they demonized it, but today educators, scientists, doctors and law makers have finally realized its potential. The herb now stands as one of the most powerful and useful plants known to mankind. Over the years, my predictions have come through.

Legalize It

When I sang “Legalize It” back in the ’70s, I knew deep in my heart that weed would one day be legal, but I never thought it would be to this extent. When I was fighting for the legalization of marijuana in Jamaica, some people thought I was crazy or too radical. They said weed was just another method of drug addiction. But now everyone can enjoy the natural herb without fear of being imprisoned or fined.

The industry has grown beyond what I could imagine back then. There are thousands of legal marijuana-based businesses from dispensaries, shop owners, growers and distribution companies. Weed has created job opportunities, boost the economy, and helped the younger generation build a solid foundation for their future. It has also helped reduce the number of incarcerations; this is a milestone that brings tears to my eyes.

The future of marijuan

In conclusion, Bob Marley sees the future of marijuana even brighter than before. Weed has revolutionized medicine; it has helped us discover groundbreaking cures for many illnesses. It helps people overcome depression, anxiety, and it has helped people dealing with PTSD. The legalization of marijuana has brought about a new era of prosperity, unity, and understanding. It is heartwarming to see how far we have come as a society.

So, I leave you with this prediction, a quote from me, “The herb is the healing of the nation, and when used properly, it can bring about true awakening and enlightenment to all mankind.” One Love, and blessed 2023.
